Thanks Tony
Would like to get in touch.
I was at Le Mans this year when the Audio won. 2 of those diesel engines in a boat would be fun. Heard a story that there going to put one in the Q7 next year.

Also Buzzi or Casiraghi won World Title with their FB Design cats or mono.
I haven't nothing against the technology progress about diesel engines.
But I think that to certain legend cars or boats the tradition are the spine for their legend itself.
You want be a real Cigarette lover? You must to keeping to powered this boat with a traditional V8.
One Cigarette boat it's not a common powerboat.
Like Ferrari car it's not a common sport car.
Then came Audi,Mercedes,Toyota....

Well,I would like you to come and drive my Dodge ram 2500 cummins diesel.
Although its a modified truck ,with 400+ horsepower and 800lb/ft torque its crazy fast for a 7000 pound truck.
All big brands from the us are making up for diesels now,you will see lighter higher rpm diesels with loads of power in the following years.
But I can see your point ,you want V8 big blocks that scream out open exhaust.
And I love that too.

Have to agree about the V8's In my opinion when the diesels started to come into class 1 on the Cowes - Torquay the sound was never the same. i'm sure the sea used to vibrate when 20 petrol boats went by.
Rest assured we wont be putting Diesel's in a Classic Cigarette boat if we get one

Put a powerful diesel in a lot of boats. FB cat or mono,Donzi,CUV,Magnum,Fairey......
But in a Cigarette ,old or new, there stay a V8 or maybe a Lambo V12 only.
Do you like put cheese on a dish of fish?

I guess it all depends on whether the fish & cheese dish would be a winner or not.
A pleasant sounding boat in 4th place, is no match for a un-pleasant sounding boat in 1st place.
Of course, the term 'pleasant' means different things to different people.

I talked about Cigarette boats not for competitions.
By the way the Donzi World Champ in P1 it's powered with bloody noisy 8V Sterling.....
If I want silence going offshore I will buy a quiet yacht.

Just sit back and ride over everything ???
PS - You could upgrade the engine from Skoda...

But the Round Britain IS a competition, a 1600 mile competition, I doubt the High HP Sterlings in OSG Donzi would be too well suited to such a marathon, but hey, ya pays ya money, ya takes ya choice.

You can do it with sterling v8,s high horsepower but .... you have to bring a couple spare engine,s with you,and some tools.
500 EFI,s are good engine,s if you go for a 1600 mile comp
Their not the most output motors ,but they last long.
