Cowes Torquay Cowes
Whilst it is wonderful to see that the CTC has been resurrected from the ashes (well almost) I am shocked to see that the course posted recently does not actually include Torbay in any way . The Boats turning point is at the Ore stone so the race is not actually that watchable in the Torbay area at all for any of the boats in full race mode.
Unfortunately I'm stuck on land this year so need a bloody big lens for any photo's.
Sounds like this race is just a boys day out and FCUK the Interested Spectators.

Come on mate,
Although it might seem that way at times, the people organising this event have had to contend with many obstacles to make this happen and im afraid they will not be able to please everyone. I think we should all be greatfull that this fantastic event has been resurrected in the first place, full stop.
An interested party might make some effort to travel to a viewing point, i know i shall.

To be brutally honest, I think you'll be seeing more of this.
After quite a few years of attempting to get sponsors to invest in teams, and organising clubs, with the intension of making it a sponsor-worthy, public spectacle event, with pretty much no success, the future looks to be club type events, organised & run by the club, paid for by the competitors, and routed wherever there is the least resistance, aggrovation and cost.
If event sponsors are found for certain races, maybe they will be different, but it's back to grass roots for now.

The V24's - although not actually racing - will be entering Torbay itself to refuel, and then return to Cowes.
I can post an anticipated route for the V24's if you are interested in watching them.

Cowes Torquay Cowes
I have been watching with great interest powerboat racing in this country for over thirty years now both circuit and offshore and seen some fabulous craft Having been a Marine Engineer for all of that time unfortunately I have been unlucky to have never participated and although having worked for Tremletts many years ago I missed the Hay day of the Cowes Torquay.
I Truly wish this race well and hope that it does attract future sponsorship and moreso that many more of the early classic craft take part in this event and other events like it in the future .
I am also glad that the V24s will be making an appearance in Torquay as I really do not understand the deeper politics of excluding certain craft from this show !!!!!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!!
