Dont you just hate messers..

Sold my Picton to a guy via eBay - spoken to him several times over the phone, sent tons of pictures, he left a £100 deposit 3 x weeks ago with agreed collection date of today due to his work commitments, promised he wants it, not a messer blah blah. In the meantime I turn away 10 plus people who want the boat cause its sold. Today the guy that's bought it rocks up to collect (with marine mechanic mate) and crawls all over it. They both say they can't fault it - fire up the XR2 and run it in the tank, purrs like a kitten, good tell tale blah blah.. again they can't fault it.. So we're good to connect up you think, him pay the balance and off to get my new Ring from Lloyde.. But noooo - the purchaser says its to noisey and his family wouldnt go in it (standard mid section btw)! Offers me his hand to shake and says he cant proceed.

What is it with people these days?

Sorry - rant over

Someone else coming tomorrow who sounds serious..

Ive had the same thing, i always state in bold in my adds you are not bidding to kick tyres and any messers will get a bad response. lol one bloke called my ad offensive, so i just said to him ' i take it you are one of the messers on here' lol.

Ebay is so bad for it.

Advertised my Crusader 19, with Yam 225 on it several years back.....bloke wanted to come over on a sunday...I get up early....clean the boat...set the muffs and hose up etc etc.....he turns up...again with a mechanic friend.....crawls all over it...listens to the motor...all good......

Goes off to have a chat with his mate....(if he was a mechanic my cock's a kipper)

Then he says...I was really lookin for an inboard...........

We stopped talkin at that point.

I think most of the time they want brand new for scrap money. Ask em to make an offer then see the lights go on different story then. Its all about the £££££ Then tell em dont insult me you didnt want it a minute ago.
