Drivers Powerboat Club

It has been proposed by Gill at Drivers Dry Berthing that a powerboat club be started to allow us all (racers and non-racers) to organise our own basic events, poker runs and social occasions.

The club will be RYA affiliated and will be able to sign-off license applications if required as well as put on races under the 'umbrella' of the RYA and the the support that gives.

This club will only succeed if we give it our support. 12 months membership is only £10 for adults (over 18) and £5 for juniors.

Membership application form can be downloaded here as a pdf, instructions and address details are on the form.

I think I'm right in saying They need 30 members to become RYA affiliated, so let's get this thing going.

The Drivers powerboat club will I think become a real hub for the racers & pleasure boaters alike.

Sorry Tony, at the moment cash (not recommended in the post) or cheques at this time. Credit/debit cards and Paypal should be an option soon.

You could always get a Postal Order on Thursday when you get your pension if that's easier.

Just a thought -

Rather than the BPRC running a Marathon Series event from Drivers next year -

Why not the new Drivers Powerboat Club?

Far less Blazers and Ties and more Hogg Roast.

Mark/Martin, 'Flag officers' will be confirmed as soon as possible, provisional list includes myself (Simon), Scott Younger, Gill Williams, Eric Smiley, Jon Fuller, Andy (F'kin) Edwards and possibly TD (in charge of catering!!!). All of these are subject to confirmation and the agreement of all concerned.

I agreed to be on the committee, but if phrases like 'flag officers' are gonna get used, I need to be as far away as possible. All that crap belongs with black ties, diners clubs, and self important wankstains who usually 'do nothing' themselves except of course a bit of good old self praise.

This will be a club set up by boat users for boat users.

Less politics - more powerboating.

Good. Let that be the last time we hear any pompous phrases like that.

Sorry that should have been:

This will be a club set up by boat users for boat owners who might use their boats one day, if the sun shines and they can be arsed to get out on the water, maybe!!!
