Hutchy, I would be careful about calling people arseholes as it may come back and bite you.
The gearboxes you built for a certain team didn't last very long did they? On the other boat you instructed them to install them so that they were running in reverse, not so brilliant either. Did you offer any compensation or even an appology for your stupidity to the team?
As I said, be careful!

Why not say it?
The problem at the moment is some people are shafting others, and the group keep quiet despite seeing it going on.
That is not cool.
Call it like you see it, debate it if required, but let those who shaft their fellow boaters be named and shamed.
If I had the warnings I am getting PM'd now, or there was a website with the balls to name and shame six months ago I would have two Promax300's on my Bladerunner - not missing in action - believed sold by Mike Van Huissteen - thief and charlatan extraordinaire.
So why not bring it out? Say the words, and let everyone see who is shafting who, or who is just grumpy or a bad looser.
Remember: If its true its not lible!

In this case I don't think it's about getting shafted one way or another. Can't see why Hutchys making such an issue about it. In the end of the day I guess the teams choose who they want wheeling for them and who not.
In the case above (gearboxes) it's really not my place to give out the names, as the team itself hasn't made an issue of it. I know the team, nice guys, but it really pisses me off when reading comments about others when the guy himself doesn't deliver.
And Hutchy, its not your workshop down there, its theirs.

Because you need to make sure you know ALL the facts before opening yer gob! Otherwise you'll be nailing your colours to the mast one evening, only to have to hastily borrow a ladder to pull the nails out the next!

I imagine it'd be particularly difficult, and certainly very tasteless, to nail a dead domesticated ungulate to a mast.

Notareal / Finnscrew
The Cougar Notareal / Finnscrew is now in Sydney Australia being restored.
It raced here as Smorgan Steel over 10 years ago by Tony Low and Simon Isherwood. It had BPM drives added and ran with Sterling's. It sank off the Gold Coast after a race when the escape hatch was knocked open and fell off.
Tony Low, the owner of the Cougar immediately purchased a ex Victory team boat from Steve Searle on the Gold coast and continued racing.
Meanwhile the Cougar was recovered, stripped and a composite cockpit added for safety. The boat then sat around another 10 years waiting to be finished.
That job is now up to me.
I hope to get her back into the water very soon. Possibly once again racing under the name of Finnscrew or maybe Notareal ?
What do you think ?
Mat
