Eligability 4 Speed Records

I have contacted COPRC to find out what and if i can stand for Outright record @ coniston at the end of the year. They told me to "Look up the website"

I have a Class III compliant Cat but want to attempt a record with a F1 2.0 300+hp Merc i have.

So looking at an unlimited outright class..I think?

My cat is open cockpit, i realize the current unlimited cat record courtesy of http://www.conistonpowerboatrecords....jfit0qd5ij.pdf

What is the "National super clubman series"?
Am i eligable for the Record with my proposed set up?

The class III 4 liter seems obtainable but that would mean having 2 class 4 liter boats racing nationally to comply..so obviously not an option.

Any record would inspire me to do this so any help greatly appreciated.

Ta

2 classes off the top of the head are unlimited (aka Bluebirds Record) or unlimited Multi (F1)
4 Ltr you will have to canopy the boat, maybe the same for Ultd Multi
You wouldn't bust either but would get a time.
That is.......Unless you start a lobby for a classic class run or hotboat both are in the rule book though a little dormant. If thats the case

A classic multi hull speed record sounds very appropriate, See you there at the end of the year seriously though how do i look into this further?

Whats run what you brung all about?

And Cheers Bob, Remember a Phantom 19 still holds the 1.8 ltr speed record (vicky Crump) 73 something MPH?

It is no longer a requirement to race in the RYA national series to set a BRITISH record for that series. For example, I can attempt a six liter record without having raced in the class.

There are a few records you can go for:

National Clubman Unlimited Catamaran ( establish )
Outboard Immerced Propellor (145mph )

As when you first posted I'm struggling to think of what you can go for. Clubman classes are inshore circuit records. Coniston is different to Windermere in that you can only attempt an official record because of the byelaws, there are no performance certificates as there were at Windermere. It's doubly difficult for you as if the boat measures then the engine probably won't and if the engine does then the boat probably won't. Factor in those records that are frozen and those that are left are pretty fast even with 300hp. Remember you have to produce a homologation sheet for the motor something you cannot do as there isn't one.

Both of these records are 'unlimited' and require no measurement or homologation...

National Clubman Unlimited Catamaran ( establish )
Outboard Immerced Propellor (145mph )

Tricky he doesn't measure for Clubman Unlimited Catamaran Engine is too small, even if he could get to 145mph I would be exceedingly surprised if the OOD would allow him to attempt that with no cell, canopies or restraints. We are trying to help here not get his hopes up or see him hurt.

Thanks techteam for the concern....Can i not go just to get an official time for RWYB. Not a "Record" as such but a timed run with safety cover? Or does any run have to be a record?

Sorry it's not Records Attempts the RYA or anybody else in the powerboat game, it's the facist state. You can only break the byelaws in the pursuit of an official record and records week have to enforce that.
