Cougar cub is 25 hp rated, had one with a 40 yam,
Great fun, but water needs to be flat,
I tried to go from Hillhead to Cowes, Stuffed it about 1/2 mile out big time.
(i landed about 20 yards in front of the boat)
My mate who was following towed it in with his ski.
The water was a bit lumpy,
That's my excuse and i'm sticking to it.

I didn't have speedo, but was a total handful, but brilliant fun.
It sat very low at the back, sometimes getting a little swamped over the back when slowing down.
I washed out the engine after the stuff sold the engine for £600, the sold the cub and trailer for £350, should av kept it.
Does anyone know why Cougar built these?
How many were made?
Is your 25 a S/S as this is what is required on a Cub.

I read an article about the Cougar Cub in german magazine BOOTE about 25 years ago. It said that the little cat was built mainly for the kids of the buyers of the full-size models but that there also was a racing series for it (with 15hp). Price as written there was a hefty 45000DM (~1500GBP) for a complete package (boat, 15hp Mariner, Trailer).

I’m also thinking of buying one. There is one in my area for 800€ (I think it is a dutch splash) but is it able to carry a fat guy and a 3Cyl. Yamahammer 40?
