Gearbox ?

Whats that liitle plate with the fin that bolts to the gearbox above the prop called? Its for adjusting torque steer isnt it? And do you need one?

Its called a "Trim Tab" and also doubles as a sacraficial anode, so i would say yes you do need one.

Taz, if the tab gets in the way of you're prop you can hack off the fin part and just use the circular piece that sits flush with the cav plate. Or you can buy them flat too...

If you off- set the thing it will take out some of the torque on the steering. Just a tad, then try it out no great formula just a suck it and see.

You can get them with the tab set back to give clearance to the prop.

Dude, they're about £10 new from your local mercury dealer. You dont need the little fin/tab bit cause you have hydraulic steering. You do need one however cause its a sacraficial anode (redudces corrosion), just get a flat one.
