Change Argo Cat to "Skater" 21, Hydrostream on this forum builds one.

Bermuda Triangle Racer

Screwed up on the original post.

It depends on if you want to go out and have fun or you want to run at the front of the pack and WIN. That will determine how much money you are going to spend.

The 19 foot Sharp in Bermuda has not raced and has not proved itself.

If you looking to run in the Around the Island Race then South Shore separates the MEN from the boys !!!!

In A class there may be one or two 16 foot race deck Phantoms still around that you can find. Price about $ 6,000.

If you want to WIN look to purchase one of the 19 foot Ocke Mannerfelts for the A, B or FB classes. Also you can choose one of the 18 or 19 foot Phantoms for the B or FB class. With the Phantom if you stay close enough and are willing to run on the edge you can make up time on the Ocke if it is rough on South Shore.

Prices range from $ 13,000 to $ 25,000 depending on the age of the equipment.

D Class go with either the 22 foot Progression with the 2.5 Merc or the white 22 foot Ocke Mannerfelt with the 2.5 Merc that was for sale earlier in the year. Failing those check on the availability of the 23 Ocke. Speeds range between 78 - 83 mph. The 21 foot Challengers, Shadows and 22 foot Velocity boats are fun but middle of the pack. Speeds 72-78 mph.

C Class the only way to go is one of the 21 foot Skaters - check around to see if any are for sale. Of the ones in Bermuda the red one is the best as it is full race and perfectly balanceed. However, this class is not for rookies and it is definitely a rush and a thrill at 80 - 90 + mph depending on how much GUTS you have !!

If any fully rigged D or C class boats are for sale look to spend between $ 20,000 - $ 35,000.

Remember the duty went up to 55% so any boat purchased overseas with the shipping will add up to almost a 75% increase in price !!!

Good luck on finding a race boat.

actually there is a new boat called a trick cat and its outperforming skater 21 aparently and will do 100/101 mph with a out of box 2.5 merc

im only 15 going 16 but you may laugh but i have some experience and alot of boat knowledge, i dont no if you know any anfossi's but i am one. ill be buying a allison soon and im looking for some smallish race boat like a phantom which will be good for gas prices, dont worry i dont have a fear of speed at all im ready.
i heard the powerboat association is no longer around and has fallen apart

do you know of any phantoms or somthing just laying around?

i would have thought challenger is a better boat than progression and a few mph is nothing, south shore is where it matters

e.g. the FB class allison owned by craig selley does 83mph but sucks on southshore the boat only weights a few 100 pounds, my dad has 2 allisons also

If I remember correctly the Mod50 survived a while in Europe as F3 / O850 before stopping a few years back. Maybe some ex-racers are on this site.
Do you have Mod50 props for sale ?
