I know what that is if you boat on the Schelde in Belgium . But we have two ponttons. Two on each side of the slipway. So we are able to lauch and recover the boat with 2 ropes . In another club were i have been member this was not possible. It's not that easy to recover the boat knowing that a few meters off the slipway sits a big pillar in the wather.

I've launched by crane into the Schelde. The height of the tide and the speed of the current make it very difficult. My Ring was bashed and battered before we could get the lifting strops off. It was just as awkward as the Maas in Rotterdam. In both cases I don't believe the crane operator could see the water!
