'Guernsey Powerboat Race 1979'

Does anyone have any information on this race as i've searched the internet and can't find anything. My dad won it in a phantom

Hi Steve, it was a phantom 18 with a 175 called Ark Villiar (was set up as someone else's boat and he had his name Mark Williams put down the side so the name was adapted to that! Dad got it new from Bert Williams), it was also two-tone blue

I have a feeling I watched that race!
I think it had a V6175 on that was new at the time and it spent most of the race following Solitaire, an 18 foot orange Marshan with a 150 straight six.
The Phantom pulled out in front on last lap to win a well deserved race.
It was held on the Havelet course
