hi all

thought it would be rude not to register as you guys set up such a great site, read it often most entertaining especially the disagreements, and mark a mate of mine wanted me to say his race boat was for sale, as he lives in the past and is not on the net tut tut

Great fella!

Lorne Campbell 27 footer. I think it's the old 'Carryfast' boat, which I also think i'm right in saying, was the only Midas Marine built 27. luvly bit of work. The rumour was, in about '91, when it showed up as 'Carryfast', it had cost 50K, which was a fkkn lot a dosh back then.

Please send my kindest regards to Mark

cheers jf sounds about right, he has not raced for a number of years, kept saying he might make a come back, his boat has always been undercover in a 35ft garage at his house, but he is on the move and his new place does not have a big garage so he did not want to see his pride and joy rot out in the rain. he gave up racing after he re engined the boat and the new xr2 would not rev in spite of throwing large sums of cash at it. the only day it ever reved it blew up ! great motor.........not will pass on your kind regards to him

Carryfast won the 3C worlds in 1992, when in that year Mark competed in a 21’ Wright cat (turned over next to Roy and I going up to the Sadler mark in the Camden Trophy Race) so you could well be right!

50 K was huge dough when you think of the economic mess the UK was in back then!

Its Mark hijacked mates keyboard, JF what a great site not looked at it before, wish a place like this existed when i was racing, mate said he calls you the oracle as you have a huge knowledge of all things boating on both sides of the atlantic.

apologize not sure who CIAO is but you have a good memory, mate said he would list cat for sale in the correct bit , hope you all have a good 2006 season, i may catch up with you guys at a race meet sometime.

got to go now thanks guys
