Hi, new to the forum, can someone identify what I have?

Hi, I'm new to the forum but not to boating, its all Derek's fault (Still no worries).
As a kid I worked in his ice cream shop and got the power boating bug, since then I have had Marshans (19 and 21), Sharp (18), Rings (19?), Driver (500), the lot.
I have just sold my Sharp 18 with Merc 200 and bought this (pictured below) as a project boat for the winter, it was sold to me as a Ring 19.
Can anyone confirm or deny this, does anyone know it and any history.
The black screen is detachable, not molded and very square at the front. Length is 19'10" if i remember correctly.
The glass is in good condition (I still need to check transom and hull wood). The deck was rotten but not a problem. I am in 2 minds whether to keep it or sort it out and keep heading for the P18 with Merc XRi or B22 with 300pro xs that I've always wanted.
Also whilst I'm writing what are the B22's like to drive?

Looks like a Ring 18A to me - should measure about 18'9" overall I believe.

thanks Sam but the keel length is 19'10" and across the top exactly 20'. im thinking your right about the Ring ?a though.

I've just checked, and (to the best of my knowledge / brochures) a Ring 18A should measure 18'6" overall, and a 20A should be 20'2" overall, so would make sense that it's a 20 going by your info - would need to see a few more pics to say for sure though!

I hate the old what is it game. Had the same when I bought my sharp, I had people determined it was a Marshan lol.
I'm not bothered what make it is as it looks a really nice v, will be interesting to see how it rides.

I also found a Shakespear 20 which was on eBay recently and although some similarities, the upper deck is different, very different on visor and where visor blends into stern.

Whilst I don't know a great deal regarding the older Shakespeare's, this boat would still appear to be either a Ring 18A or Ring 20A to me (difficult to gauge proportions from the photos!)

Here's a link to what I assume is the equivalent Shakespeare, using the same hull but with modified deck, hence the alternate screen and aft quarter setup...

This boat in question has been discussed before on here, and quite obviously from the images differs from the photos of the Shakespeare (provided that the yellow Shakespeare pictured is the nearest looking 'Ring designed' boat that they built?)

If that is the Shakespear that's like a ring it's not that. Mine has a transom well, a flatter visor ( the shaky looks more like a small screen). I think 20a as its just over 20'. Derek, I'm feeling more swayed by a b22 with a 300 pro xs, that is unless your selling your p18 at standard phantom money???? Lol

Why a b22 ? If you want a race boat you need a b23 not b22 but don't forget tandem seats and the wings are a pain in the ass

sorry i do actually mean a b23, the b22 are ment to be skitish once you power them up. although saying that they b22 are cheap and go some with relatively low power. there is one that ends today and its £500 atm, not bothered by tandem seating as it would be for a real blast out (got the bayliner for social), whats the probs with the wings? i just want something i can use when im not busy, something a bit unique, it seems like its never smooth past the bar anymore!

OCR style racing is around tight corners and you would be up against the Phantom 19 (the one to beat), the boat would be useless with more length and steps for that style of racing. If nobody is using the Suzuki for racing then it's a fair assumption there's a reason for that!
