Coastguard seems to have ignored this....
"When two power-driven vessels are crossing, the vessel which has the other on the starboard side must give way. "

Trust a ribber to be a stickler for a small detail like collisions at sea regs!

This one has been discussed on and off for a long time on the American forums they also came to the conclusion it was the coastguards fault, thought it had been posted here around a year back

There was plenty of angle for the guys in the speedboat to see the coastguard if they had been looking straight ahead; i bet that they were looking at the bigger boat to their right as they passed and wallop!

that must be the first time a yank missed the oppertunity to use his sirens!
plenty of time to sound his horns even if the speedboat was looking the other way....
but glad to see the speedboaters were wearing lifejackets (NOT)

Now Jono, you know full well that if we did an (honest) poll on how many boaters from the rib community, vs how many boaters from the real boat community, had left their craft involuntarily whilst underway (ie, not boating within the dynamic limits of their vessel, therefore, 'unsafely') the ratio would be off the scale, in the rib direction, so don't go bringing that old bollox on here with us safety concious maritime heros of the modern world!!!!!!!
Kin ribbers.
