Hood Fastener

Would someone please recommend any security fastener for my Yamahas hood. I use my boat allways in rough watter and I m afraid to lost the hood. Yammis 250. Someone has installed one in their engines?

www.protex.com either the prolatch or the catchbolt for extra security.

I use the protex and the cowling would have taken a dip without them last weekend. The only comment I'd make is the stainless ones I got about 1/3 of them had turned rusty after a couple of trips out. Others were fine suspect it was a mixed batch, but really good. I also wirelock over the catchplate before closing the protex latch

Call them if you're not happy - I think you'll find they will change them .............

I'm always happy, they are a nice latch - as I said a mixed batch I suspect - the others are perfect as the day they were new.
