Hi Paul

So what color scheme was it when you drove it at Windermere in 2004, any of the above?

Not sure who he sold it to"

And was it my one that was rolled on the A34? Not that it matter just would like to get to the bottom of the history behind it for providence.
Nope. 100% yours is not the claygate no10 boat shown above. That boat is elsewhere.

For me personally, the cougar 27 is a great boat. Fantastic in the chop. Really solid and the type of boat that allows you to keep your foot planted where you would have to back off in something smaller or more beamy. But, I wouldn't want to throw one round a corner like they had to in the Honda 225 racing. Bear in mind it is a long and very narrow stepped hull. It just doesn't have the right dimensions for tight circuit racing.

I will PM you with some some history tomorrow night but it is definitely not Claygate. I drove it with the union jack on the bow.

Just can't wait to get mine in the water, it seems that everyone who has driven one is so passionate about them.

But realistically it not going to be untill the beginning of next season now. Just look it up and I bout it end of September 09, so it been out of the water for 4 years. So much for the original plan of it being a 6 month winter project. Hey ho only a few bits left to finish off.

Na Pete, I won the 150's in 04. The one I drove in Largs was the red one with the lary yellow strips that Delmar brought, that was in 05.

I know it's a long shot and off thread but do you have a need for one more in team Cougar London to Monte Carlo? I have a bit of cash that might cover the fuel bill. Just curious.

ThomasF, i believe you bought this hull off Jeremy Taylor, which was the old 'Real Player' hull in the 225 series at one stage i think? Also if it is that boat, i raced with Jeremy a couple of times and tested numerous times in it, it ran lovely with a 300xs on it, was running just under 80mph when i last was out in it. Jeremy did do a lot of hours in it so knew how to drive it, just respect it when cornering as if your to quick and tight, catch/control it or its swim time. They are safe boats to be thrown out of..... Never a bad word to say about a Cougar Hull/Boat....

Yes correct Will, this boat did race as Real Player (after being WarmUp, Stopbox, Airwaves, & Claygate) , I think Jack sold it to Jeremy

Hello, Pete- did John D not sort the deal out for the boat to Jeremy in that mad rush to get him into that P1 Lymington race in 09/10? Before the latest versions arrived.... Then Jeremy kept it with him for hundreds of hours of testing in Chelmsford. Also remember running that boat in and engine at 9pm up and down Southampton water on a freezing winters night...

That was not the one John D and i came out of "testing" in Southampton water, that was Ian Brusby's one that is now in Plymouth, former London Boat Show/Rough Cut Racing #21. It was only me that came out of that one when testing a while back....
