I've rebuilt a number of Yamaha V4's (CETO's & BETO's) they have all looked like new inside just needed rebore after a long service life. To be fair they would probably have gone on for ever but were getting hard to start due to low compression. Generally regarded as bullet proof workhorse and sound pretty good too. I think it has as much to do with the sort of owner they attract as much as the Yamaha engineering.
