Investors buy majority stake in Hunton
By IBI Magazine
A group of investors headed by Arkle Partners LLP has purchased a majority stake in the UK's Hunton Powerboats in return for a substantial injection of new capital.
Jeff Hunton, who founded the UK boatbuilder in 1979, will remain as head of design, while Martin Payne will continue in his role as head of sales. The company has also recruited Michael Moriarty as managing director. Moriarty has held a number of different management roles at Arkle Partners over the last three years.
According to a group statement, the new owners will invest in marketing the brand internationally to build the company's profile. Plans are also underway to launch two new models this year to complement the existing range.
