ive broken my skeg on my gear box wat will it do

i have broken the skeg on the bottom of my gear box would it make it go faster,slower or just uncontrolable bearing in mind its on a 16ft argo.

Broken how? Has the whole thing broken off or just a bit? The less skeg you have in the water the more prone the boat will be to hooking when you turn at speed.

about half has gone im not to worried because its on my spare box

It would probably be difficult to steer and might even want to go sideways as well!
