Looks like an Apache 45/47 with triples and the worlds biggest Gaffrig or Gaffrig type mufflers.
The Velocity is a 280VR which is really a 26 with a cut down deck.

The real deal then, Apache boats have a very strong following, Guy must live in a very low noise zone to warrant that kind of silencer, he's being very kind to his neighbours
Is that a single engined Velocity race boat as you say it is really a 26'
If I am not mistaken this RIB at key West looks like a Cougar Rib can that be? have the Americans gone soft in the recession

http://www.airshipribs.com/ makes Cougar ribs in the states. I have seen some for sale in Norway, and they are apparently built and rigged better than the Cougars….

The Weismann Transmission another innovation from the US not sure if any Euro teams have ever fitted this system
coupled to a Weismann Computer controlled,semi-automatic 2, 3, 4, and 6 speed, drysump transmissions and plonked on the end of a 500/600hp diesel engine could prove fun ... and of course expensive only for those with serious cash to spend I guess

It's a single engined boat that measures 26'3" (if memory serves) without the bathing platform. It won the first two heats of the "Worlds" in Key West. I haven't seen the results for the final heat yet.
Not to worry about a quiet Apache. The mufflers have a LOUD button.

CLASS 1 ACE STEVE CURTIS ADDS ANOTHER WORLD TITLE IN THE US
Monday, 10 November: Qatar 96 throttleman and Class 1’s eight times World Champion and most prolific race winner, Steve Curtis, added another ‘world’ title to his impressive CV on Sunday, after winning the third and final race of the 28th Annual American SBIP-APBA Offshore World Championship in Key West, Florida.
The US-1 Reliable Carriers crew of Curtis and American Tom Abrams were tied in first place with Talk-N-Trash after finishing third in the first race and winning the second, earlier in the week and took the title in the Superboat 750 class with a win in yesterday’s decider. “It was huge, a big win for us,” said Curtis. “Tom and I have been coming here for years and have always had a monkey on our back, so it was great to finally get the championship.
“It was a really good race with Talk-N-Trash. They were chasing hard, but everything went perfectly for us and they weren't going to catch us.”
Curtis now turns his attentions to the final two races of the Class 1 World Powerboat Championship in Dubai on the 6 and 13 December

That looks quite evil a serious bit of kit by the looks of it and ideal for balancing power/engine torque in high HP single engine applications I would assume
good on Steve not forgetting of course MBE for kinking some ass out there, proves he does have what it takes after getting his butt kicked by some girlie presenter whilst applying make up, we can now believe him when he says he had a chocolate propeller and no spark plugs
