Check out this site in the USA its Lake Havasu its where the old London Bridge ended up, scroll down and especially check Havasu and the River. We went through there some years ago when we were in Las Vegas for the Water Ski Racing Worlds

Looks very nice loads of Muscle boats of all types, a guy that was pulling one of the British Skiers lived there, he told us that the locals and he meant local as in (LA and Vegas) in the summer had a there day weekend and descended on the lake on mass, you can see from the Web site that it appears to get very busy.

The town itself is relatively new as it sprung up when the old London bridge was built there.

The whole area is awash with high powered boats of all shapes and sizes, we had one race on the Colorado river down in Parker on an Indian reservation, the hotel had its own marina that was empty when we arrived , the day after the race it quickly filled up with trailed boats of all types, probably had 50/60 berths.
