Marshan moulds

Just looking at some oldvids and books and i was wondering what happened to marshan boats?
Did the moulds get sold offf and when did production stop?
I am guessing it would have been end of 80's -mid 90's when the sports/ski market in the uk started to die?
This sports boat rally has got my interest in all the old makers.
any info on other builders from back in the day would be nice to have.
Cheers guys
Paul

Terry Sleap is a member of this forum, maybe a PM would answer your question.

Thanks Jon, It'sjust curiousity. I have always looked at pics of boating in the 70's and 80's and wanted to learn more about the boats and people that built them. Would i be right in thinking that the 80's was the 'hot hatch' era of boating. i'd 18-20 foot boats with 200hp motors?

Well the Merc V6 first appeared in 1976, so I guess that was the beginning of the big power years.

Funny, i am just watching all the classic racing in the gallery and noticed the change over year.

I wish i could see the sort of days the old man used to have with 15 boats meeting up regularly, that was just his mates, let alone seeing many more if you went to the coast but sadly i dont think i will.
Got pics of that mob going under tower bridge, looks amazing.
This is why i am looking forward to the rally.
Cheers Jon.
Pm'd Terry but noticed he has not been on for a few years so i'll have to wait and see.

The system will send an email to terry to let him know he has a PM, so as long as his email address is still current, he should get the message.
