Can any one tell me best place to buy mer imboard parts need a couple sea pump impellers and O ringfor 496ho been told best to buy genuine merc for these parts as the sierra arnt up to much? thanks

thanks for that but i have there cat/log and they are SIERRA parts some say there ok some say rubbish dont want to skimp on something as cheap but important as impeller so prob best stick with the mer one

496's seem to suffer with wear on the back plate, so I'd replace that at the same time. Give Gareth at Marinautic a call on 01202 678085 he's usually got them in stock

Spoke to Gareth earlier, and he's emailed me this.....



"New 'improved' back plate assy to prevent wear on 496 waterpumps in stock now but depends on if he has air operated drain down - serial number related!

Imp kit = rrp £35.08 less 10% boatmad disc + vat? (consists imp + o-ring) in stock

offer re-condition back plate exchange if it helps, call for costs as installing new impeller can cause overheating at idle"

Thanks for that Tony i will call Gareth in the morning , my motors do have air drain but you cant trust them i just undo the 4 blue taps cant go wrong
