Hi all,

Does anyone know what engine block this is? Nissan/BMW?

I need a head gasket and the mercruiser ones are very expensive.

Thanks

Grant

It's an Italian engine. they're called 'VM' I believe BMW used them for their diesel sterndrives. As did Range Rover in their early TD models (and the Rover SD1 turbo diesel) the engine is modular, they do 4, 5 and 6 cyninder versions of it, merc do it right up to 300hp now I think. (6 cylinder D-tronic)

Try George on 01246 551797, I've used him recently for some parts for my Cherokee and I know he stocks bits for the Mercruiser engines. Or I can supply you Mercruiser bits with a bit of discount as a fellow Boatmadder.

I have some gaskets, rings and washers etc here, they are quite heavy to send, unlees urgent can bring them over next time I'm in UK.
I had a pair of 6 cylinder in my old Binlinder Avanti 3555....biggest load of shit I have ever come across in 50 years of boating, was going to give them to Mike B at lancing.
Let me knw and get rid of!!!!!!!!
