Mercury "Race" 60hp

What are these used for, I imagine some kind of circuit racing, but would possibly suit the kiddies class?

Not quite a Kiddie class, has been promoted as Formula Mercury Class for 4 years in Scandinavia, compiles with SL60 rules, Moelgaard delivers the boats,
Baba has presented a boat for the class recently. Sending some links :

ADNAC Series

I saw this class racing in Germany as its sponsored by the German equivelent of the AA. I spoke to Christian Molgaard about importing these cats into UK as the price was around £9000 less engine. But it appeared there was very little interest so I knocked the idea on the head. The 2008 ADNAC champion was a voluptous 18 year old female. They also used Selva's in the same class

Selva in the class sounds strange as the class Formula Mercury is as it says, Mercury (only). The UIM SL60 class in which also the Formula Mercury measures is for EPA classified engines. The measurements on the formula Mercury boats and SL60 is somewhat identical with the boats in the F1000 (Selva class) the selva F1000 engine is not ETA/Carb.

Apology

I have checked up on the Selva racing in the Mercury class and it appears the organisers of the event allowed drivers will Selva power to take part but the class was for Mercury 4 stroke engines and the cat was Molgaard . I still think it has tremendous potential in the UK although some might say there is enough classes already.

the problem with a good series in the uk is lack of places to hold events regularly. i can only think of stewartby and chasewater at the moment but i am sure someone will correct me.
it would be good to see circuit back again though.

We visited Christian Molgaard last year and at that time he was looking at 24000 Euros for a complete outfit ready to race. This included propellor but no trailer.
There is a strong possibility that there will be one on the UK circuit next year.

I did here a while ago that carr mill may not happen but that is the rumour mill i guess. and i didnt know about barrow.

As for southerners, when you lot up there discover the wheel, fire and running water you may get some tourism.
