Wot that doesn't say is, it aint as good in compression, so when re-designing the structures to suit Aramat, you need get all the Aramat bits in tension, using sandwich construction etc. or It could end up weaker. And as it weighs about the same, any weight advantage is gained through reducing lay-up, so you gotta suss out where to lose it.

It aint just a 'wonder stuff' that you chuck in and watch the boat 'float' away in the breeze.
I thought the whole point of aramat was that you over come the anisotropic properties of the kevlar by the weaving it 50/50 with fibre glass, glass fibres being isotropic !!!

I quite like em, had a 162 years ago, with a 115 'tower of power' on the arse.

Had to remove the deck and renew the transom timber, which was a pain.

As i'm sure you're finding out, everyone has an opinion on whether a given boat is any good, and all are just that, opinions!

And we all have our faves.

If you like the look of it, and are prepared to put the work in, just do it, you'll have a blast.

Plenty of people have driven Marshans with great success in racing, and I reckon you'll love it.
