Nitra Boats

My friend Marcus Friberg have a new project that I want to share. A new boat is comming together. Its calles Nitra and it´s built in Sweden. The moulds are fabricated by MacroMould. CNC cut moulds.

The boat is 24 feet long. Have some Solid Works drawings and some pics of it comming together in the CNC

Will keep this thread up to date on whats going on and how the boat is comming together!

Cool! I like the deck/hull combination.
Is there a particular reason why it isnt stepped?

It is designed for the National Offshore classes V-150, V-300 and V-115. In V-150 and V-115 you are not allowed to have stepped hulls or wings

That's a hansom looking boat and thank you for sharing this build thread with us. CNC routed foam seems to be common place now to form prototype tooling for composites.

I am currently working on a non boat related composite project and it would be very interesting to see the various plug/mold processes at each stage.

Look forward to your future posts

Regards David

Is that a one off mould? Why not go straight to making a plug?

This mould can be used for 5-10 Boats according to our boatbuilder.
We make a plug on Nitra nr ? Later on, when we have sold some Boats

Hi Zander,
Looks like a very interesting project Keep the build pictures coming.
How much would the tooling cost for a project like this?
Petter

Progress

The mould is comming together quite nice!

Here are some pics!

First they put on some gel that hardens for a day. After that the cut it in the shape of the boat. This is quite strong and up to 10 boats can be made in the mould!
