i will have a similar set up very soon, did the boat chine walk alot? if so i think thats common of p18's and with the power you have it dosent sound fun flat out in the rough considering the boats designed for a 150 (im assuming youve got a 2.4 bridgeport?) roofer would be the one to speak to i suppose he had a p18 with a 2.5 i think?
good luck!! what speed did you get btw?

I presume you mucked about with the trim? I have a 2.4 Mariner on my R20, I know not the same boat but if i trimed out to far the back end slid about like f*k trimed in slightly nose went down and boat was more stabble. I had a high 5 on at the time too. Maybe you need a bow tank if you cant get the nose down (if not already fitted). Also found the boat a bit less stabble when i lifted the engine 2 notches on the transom.

If your planning on going flat out with that boat and engine combination then i think its gonna have to be calmer, you say the bow was right up? Have you got a bow tank? If not id get one or at least add some ballast to keep the nose down

Next race at Barrow is 26th Sept, bring the boat along, i'll give you a hand.

Just about to put a 2.4 bridgeport on mine and flog it. Anyone want a race boat with cable steering and Hydro Jack? Handles perfectly!

hi i have 18 ft boat with 2.4 bridgeport, boat accellerates like you wouldnt believe, so know the power you have , the boat i owned before was a p 20 with a yamaha 200 hp witch was an old slug in comparison, in fact where i have been using her at hayling it has been quite rough, so cant keep it full power for to long ,good luck safe boating reece
