crave the wave, lovely hull, same shape as my magician.

i think you should get it all set up first before thinking bout a bow tank thou paul, i have a bow tank in magician and never used it! getting the motor to the right height/setback is all i needed to do to get her running flat. even thru fairly big chop and even the condor wake an i stay really flat, im even using a chopper for bow lift!

also i spent ages looking for the rubber fendering for the rim. a place called 'wilks rubbers' is the cheapest place and they'll even send you free samples, comes in diffrent colors/textures

That Crave the Wave was originally Blue and powered by twin Suzuki 115hp
I think it was called Die Valkerie or something didn't race
Its an early 21 footer the same as mark 1 Proffesional(orange)
Foxies Bro raced it once in Herm race with a 26 qss it won-OLD SKOOL !
Engine setting for this hull measured from Cavitation plate 21/2 inches accross
4 inches up-hold on tight

As the Ring 21 was briliantly designed to run level and just hover,it won't need a bow tank like a Phantom.Put the weight Battery and Tank in the back and as low down as you can for centre of gravity.
I have heard rumour that the old 21s were a bit quicker then the newer version although the gill bracket versions (Sony Handicam and Golden Monkey) went well with 2.4

Cool thanks for the advice

I don't know if the transom was ever built up at any point on it, but it's around 25" - maybe from it's days as a twin rig... It's a long shaft motor that we have so we'll offer it up and see what the score is. I'll be having a fuel tank made so I'll make sure it's a snug fit between the knees that support the transom, and nice & low. It certainly can't do any harm to have a bow tank ready to go in if it needs one - and we may as well if we have the bits.

We're having a big sanding/prep session tomorrow night, hopefully she'll be ready to paint by the end of the weekend if the weather holds out!

Well if Simon still wants it and would rather it not be sunk we can find you something else easily enough, and I can sort out disposing of it afterwards

Yep that was me, ripped out the whole wiring and the boat carried on running toward Salerie. The foot throttle cable kinked when I was thrown out, the boat hit a wave and slowed to tick over just off the marina entrance.
Still got the pics

Serious progress!

All the hard work is starting to pay off and she's got some paint...

Building the 'spray booth'

Navigator Ben checking I've got the bottom nice & straight! There were a lot of dings and scrapes that have been filled & smoothed out. Hours and hours of mindnumbing work but should pay off in the long run

Manhandling her into position

Some of the 'muscle'

My brother Neil at work

happy with the straightness!

Some grey

Masking off = a happy Paul!

Next step is to turn it over, spray the deck, then mask off a load of fake steel 'panels' all over the grey. Neil's then got the unenviable job of airbrushing around 2000 rivets... The overall effect is going to be awesome though, complete with rust around the skin-fittings etc.

The name is 'Crusher Destroyer', should look pretty hard I reckon! Engine plans have changed too... I've picked up an offshore leg, cle box & alien cowl, which will be mated up to my 2.5 200. Can't wait!

P.S. I'm really sorry for the delay in getting Quiksilver Simon, but as you can probably tell we've been pretty busy! As soon as we have a spare couple of hours we'll dig it out for you
