Their were 3-4 0f these 36' Bonito knocking around the Poole bay area in the late 80's all if I recall pleasure versions and inboard petrol engines I did have an article testing one with 2x260hp Merc's just don't know where it is, they were built someplace around Poole I think by the Whitmarsh's ...Watched a couple of these race 1 Inboard the other with 2x200hp outboards, the outboard one I recon did around 60mph not bad I thought for a 36' boat with only 400hp, have a vague memory of some guy telling me they weren't bad a bit of crazing from flexing around midship area on the upper superstructure...they also did a 27' version with wonky spray rails one of the moulds was in some barns around Salisbury for many years this I was told was a splash don't know what of thou

... 36' Bonito I raced it with Nick Edwards in 1989 but then ran out of money! Sold to someone from Poole, I think, in bits for £5k. I'd l Iove to know where it is now!
It's on this video of the '89 Needles Trophy race in amongst Class Ones.
