Fastest I guess must have been Jim Cramphorns Ring 21B F1 skiracer at Windermere somewhere near 100 mph , not bad for 1985 ( I think if I remember correctly). The boat went on to Oz and won the worlds and was sold there.
I really cannot say that any single design was the best in particular as I passionatley believed in every boat through the design and laborious tooling stage. Some stand out more than others , the Ringcat 22 being the way ahead as far as I was concerned. I felt and still do that cats are terrific all rounders and were never given a chance to flourish in the UK for financial reasons and the general public being afraid of kiting about , which they will NOT do if properly set up for the purpose intended. The 20 B stepped was the quickest of the 20 footers. The 21D the prettiest and best balanced lines of the Monohulls allthough the 26 and the newer Ring 25 still look very much todays hulls of their genre.
In my opinion the Ring 34 will also prove to be a rather attractive boat on the water, but I am biased so what the hell do I know !! I hope the boating public like it when it finally makes its debut.
A 34 foot Ranger is a possibility if certain promises are kept. But untill then the Ranger 25 is our current best roughwater boat, putting up a really good performance in some nasty conditions.
Its been an interesting ride over the years and its not finished yet !
There is a build history listed on
www.ringpowercraft.co.uk that covers all boats .
