Have a look at the thread entitled Falcon Boats? in the Technical section - it looks just like one for sale in Spain!

Looks like it's had a Lancing Marine surface drive fitted previously.

As an owner of the Bonito Falcon 36, there is a lot of difference, especialy in the side stern moulding.

On looking through recent threads. I think this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/37-ft-Racing-P...item3efd45a9f0 Is probably more like the boat in this thread. Just my idea.

That was called the Bora 27 foot long as opposed to the Falcon at 36 feet . I remember an article on the Bonito surface drive in the late 80's .Not sure if it was their design or not ?

Don't know if it was the same boat but I there was also one in Cruiser B in 89 called 'SUNA'. The name was more interesting when seen in a mirror.

I think geriatric on this forum may have purchased one back in the 90's that was sat around the Ferndown area in Dorset for a long time

and I believe there was a mold that looked like it had been lying around for a while sat in a farm yard in Wiltshire that did a bit of boat building for me and the geriatric back in the early 90's, however one day this mold was back in the workshop and a large rib was bashed out although I have to say the mold did not look 100% as it looked more a case of it was a ripper from something else and it was badly executed with unequal spray rails etc and I am sure they said it was a 27 Bonito mold

If the one for sale was Weru Windows ( it was yellow - inside appears to be yellow in places ) then I think that was his - have got the build articles plus ad for it .
I remember a red 27 just outside Devizes which they took a mould from to build a big rib had Johnsons I think in one of the old farm buildings there.

Ye, maybe you used to go to the same farm building I used to frequent back in the early 90's, anyhow whilst there one day they said to me ... had any glassing experience, I said ye fixed a window once oh and from the age of 10 played around sticking bits of fibreglass to the ole dingy but it still sank ... so they said great then your a master craftsman hold this brush and grab that fibreglass and get on with it, any problems follow our lead, after that I was made and gained a job as a master craftsman at Sunsqueeker ... and I can proudly say I bumped into one of them 10 years later and they said the ole rib was still going strong

OOOps sorry made the Sunseeker bit up

The old WERU boat

Yes, I recognise the beast that I raced back in the late 90's. I got the hull and deck from Bonito Boats (Brian Whitmarsh) and Gordon Wright fitted it out. It was bright yellow and we fitted a Ford diesel from Lancing Marine on a Lancing Marine surface drive and I was beset with mechanical problems. At the start of a race we opened the throttle to full and all the crew had to go up to the very bow inside and wait until the prop gripped and we would all run back to the cockpit when the power came on and the rest of the field had vanished out of sight. WERU Windows UK dealer eventually fitted a big V8 in it but it still never performed well. He part exchanged it for a Rover V8 car at a garage at Portland and that was the last time I saw it. If it performed as well as it looked it would be a multi-world champion but we only won two races. Once when we beat Robert Horwood's B class cruiser Comanche and we won our class in a Cancer Research race.
