I'd guess around 71 -72
Cigarillo ended up with Alf Bullen with i think maurice Bell,
Sun and .. was Norman Barclay & Willie Meyers
Could the pic be the OPC's Marbella powerboat week around that kinda time, far to nice a looking climate for the UK & we didn't have smart marinas at that time. But I recall it being a Class III week but then was it 1 & II as well, bugger to long to think of it clearly
Now one of those with 2x 280's would be a nice project
Wot else Sun And... was a side by side config Cigarillo was a tandum config

Just goes to show the knowledge thats on here at Boatmad. Your answer is almost perfect, Marbella is the place and so is the event, you are right with Alf Bullen and Maurice bell in one and I understand the other had Norman Barclay with Willie Meyers on board, great combination. The year was 1972.The pic was taken by Johnny Caulcutt and hangs on the wall of his office.

Cigarillo
do not forget that Cigarillo was raced originally by Bill Shand Kydd who unfortunately now is wheelchair bound after bad riding accident...
many of Bills racers have vanished Blue Moppie, Lucinda ,Lucy 2 , and Ultimatum is languishing on the south coast.

Cigarillo
Talking of Bill Shand Kydd in Cigarillo,I remember in 1971 the Needles race began in bright sunshine till a bank of sea fog covered the course,by which time the racers were on their way back from the Shambles light. The comment at the time was that Bill Shand-Kydd had a few strong words with M.Aitken.Jnr when finding Cigarillo virtually on Peveril Ledge. He managed to flick the boat away but lost two underwater units.Seeing this at the RMYC later it looks like they had been sliced off with a butter knife.Lady A had a shock when they nearly hit Old Harry at the last minute. All shades of the CTC fog bank at Paignton in 1991.
