Ring or Phantom? (20/21)

Before deciding on my next boat I would be greatful if the more experienced Boatmaders could share their insight on what the different characteristics of the two great boats are.

I'm not looking for opinions on which of the two is a "better" boat. I know they are both great. But what are the main differences? Is the other faster in calm waters, the other in rough, etc.? Any major difference in weight (stock versions)? Is one more stable and the other more prone to chine walk etc.? I am expecting to rig the boat, either a 20 or 21, with a 225hp Mercury. My boat will be rigged as a fast pleasure boat with a jack plate and a surface piercing prop and running at speeds of around 75-80mph.

Found a bit of info on comparison between R & P from previous threads. It seems the consensus is that P is the faster boat and R a softer ride. My take is that if you want to race offshore or have a very fast "club racer" go with P and if you want a more easy and leisurely pleasure boat go with R...

Not to get stuck on a touchy subject comparing two great boat marques I'll turn the comparison within each marque.

Assuming the boat will be rigged with a 225hp Merc Opti how would...
- P20 compare with a P21?
- R20 compare with a R21?

Down the lake maybe, but out in the rough I think the ring will shine.

Both good boats, totally depends what you want from it. Ring probably is slightly slower but it won't beat your brains out in the chop.
