Ring over Phantom?? Needs Repair...

Hi, how hard would it be to repair a crack in the bow of a Ring, has spread into the side of the boat. Am torn between a Ring 21 and a P21, both very light ex. Gibraltar running boats, in same condition, ring's apparently quicker but my only other experience of a Ring was a very hard ride!! (and not the good, female sort!! )
Altough the Ring's look nice, it's just not a Phantom!!
Please help me!!
Max
