I was told a while back the yellow (w/ orange, green, blue) carbon built b28 with twin 280's done over 110mph. Just wondering if thats a true statement or just talk? I think it raced in the UIM 4 or 6 Litre class at one point.

'Wing & A Prayer'

105 I think, but Pete & co told me Blackers one was very tricky at that speed and not really up to 6 litre use. as a 4 litre boat W & A P was awesome. Low 80's, but really fantastic in pretty much all conditions.
John Miller was a cheat though, when new, it had secret belly tanks to 'bring it up to weight' for the load cell. He wound up in court (nothing unusual there) with the person who'd made all the cheat kit, and still had all the drawings etc. expose so to speak.

B28 at 126mph!

found this and the site says 126mph!?! max top speed for the B28 'Wing & A Prayer' . A bit optimist or something checked like lake Coniston water speed records?
http://www.batboat.com/index2.htm
• A custom built, state of the art powerboat
• Carbon fibre/Kevlar lightweight composite
• 12 Metres with two x 300 HP Mercury motors
• Top speed: 126 MPH 0-60 MPH in 4.6 secs

and here every interesting discussion on the particular boat:
http://boatmad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12215&page=2

With a pair of XR2 in 1996 the B28 'Wing & A Prayer' was a bit faster in race configuartion than the 24 skater/FLYING OYSTER, may be due to the fact they used the hidded belly tank...
Yann Cadoret told me at 100mph with the 2.5EFI the wings of the B28 were produced too much portance and the boat lifted the stern too much, then the b28 was at full speed more to the bow than the stern.May be this explain the difficulties to dive her at those speed.
May this explain the story about he cutted wings.

But, someone can explain me what I've to understand in :"it had split the keel"
http://boatmad.com/forum/showpost.ph...3&postcount=21
Does that means the boat was fissured in the bottom?
Thanks for any explanations

Yes that is the boat I was talking about! We have no weight limits here in Bermuda.
