how would a Honda 150 stack up against 6.5 rib with a 150 in terms of seakeeping and speed

Rather depends on what rib it is.

A Solent 6.5 is based on (slightly shortened version) a Phantom 23.

Assuming the 'splash' was taken accurately, and the reduction in length hasn't affected things too badly (the 6.5 Evo is *basically* the same thing, so should be ok) I'd have my money on the rib....but not because it's a rib, or because the Honda is a hardboat.

Jf would not the RIB be at a disadvantage due to its size, although based on a commendable pedigree it's hull length may only be around 18'6ft and therefore any choppy water would slow it more than the 21+ft honda?ring hard boat, although if it could use all it's speed it would be quicker in outright terms on the straights

I'm not certain what the exact hull length is for the Solent, but am guessing at about 20'.
That hull is significantly warped in it's deadrise, so very pitch stable and capable. And assuming the motor is hung direct on it's transom, instead of some boy racer tin bracket, I still think my money is on the Solent, in a heavy chop at least. The Ring/Extreme is a pretty quick calm water boat in it's own right, I'm not sure the Solent/Phantom would have any advantage in that department.

Anyways, this is only my humble opinion, which has a pretty good chance of being wrong I spose.
I'd rather be in the P23 it derived from than both of the above boats anyway, so it's quite academic really.
And all that said, I'm too old and fat to go racing a little bote about at all, so I'd ignore everything I say......I know, most people already do.
