Shearwater/Ring RIB

Does anyone know what the hull is like on this boat?

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/BEM239/

I'm a bit confused about which Ring moulds are where, and who's using them!

Are the various sizes all similar designs, or has Mike designed a load of very different hulls?

Ta!

I pretty sure that hull is the same as tony's 21, mike did keep a running surface moulding when tony bought it all in '95.

So it's basically the Honda 150 raceboat hull

his hulls are all the same basic concept anyway

Scorpion ribs are based in Lymo, don't know what / whose hull they use. Most rib hulls are based on Ring / Phantom designs though.

The Scorpion hull was designed by naval architect David Marsh.

Ahhh....

They don't make those in Lymo, they are actual Mike Ring boats sold by LMS as far as I'm aware.

I was in the yard yesterday & a guy from SAL Marine was working on the blue tubed Ring rib pictured on the home page of the LMS site linked above.

He told me that it has the same hull as the Extreme. Don't know how true this is, but it looked very similar to an Extreme that is kept in the yard.

Simon at SAL Marine is probably the biggest retailer of Mike Rings boats, both rib and sportsfisher, some of which use the same basic hull as ours!
