Shipping from the states

Im looking at buying a cowl from the states. What is the best/cheapest way of gettin it back here. Rough idea of costs too?
Never had much luck with shipping stuff from the states, always seem to get stung big time this end when they arrive..........If they arrive!

2 years ago I shipped an Alien Cowling in from Bobs Machine Shop in Florida, using Bax Global. It cost me $123.00 shipping with an additional 15.55 fuel surcharge and 10.00 security surcharge.

The cost of the cowling was $549.00....

Upon arrival in the UK I had to also pay 15.00 advance of duty fee, 8.76 Duty, and 58.35 vat. (those last three sums are pounds, I've lost me pound sign!!!!)
