Simms return

Seems the Simms Super V 14 is set to make a return to the market place.

That was my first speedboat. Did 48 mph (gps) with a 70hp motor.

It was ok on flat water but used to stuff badly in the chop, could have been my driving though.

Due to this I became a dab hand at making new windscreens!

I always had a soft spot for the Simms Super V. Always wanted one when I was a boy.

Didn't they have a kind of 'Droop-snoot' nose, that dropped away for "better visibilty"; maybe that was why they stuffed easily?

The front does drop off a bit!......a special feature!

gives you a good view of the wave you are about to go under.

Loads of fun though

no beans, just know of the company that owns the moulds and rights to build and they reckon they will be soon producing them again...

they better not produce more than 3 a year............... they'll flood the market..................supply will outstrip demand; market forces will ensure a decrease in price.

then they'll be doing themeselves out of a nice tidy profit!

I had a metalic blue one one with "Hot Omelette" painted down each side, strange name for a boat I always thought.
