So I Went and did.......

What I didn't want to do and got a rather expensive marine engenier and now found the problem... the 115 Merc is FU*KED! Lesson learnt.... so now I'm looking for a 150hp - 200hp engine.... I'm not made of money so I need a realtivy cheap one... Taz I'm still thinking about your Merc just seeing if anything else is out there.

If anything send me a PM and we go form there..... to everyone that helped me out gave me advice thanks guys!!

Luke,

Have you looked at the Mercury 115 on ebay (Auction number 130310264204)
may be worth a look to stip the good parts off your 115 and build 1 good engine out of the two, just a thought anyway.

At 99p it may be worth it,
but start pulling these old motors apart and you may just find it's held together with white dust!
Reading between the lines a bit,
but it sounds like this motor has been stood for a while, ask yourself why?
You could end up throwing good money after bad!
I know you say that your budget is small but back to what I said in a previous post
"buy the best motor you can afford because you cant push a boat to the side of the road"
if you want to improve you budget split the motor you've got and sell the parts on ebay, that way you wont get someone after you when they cant get it running
just a word of caution that’s all,
hey it maybe the best motor you'll ever have

Don't think there ever was a 200 L6 was there.

Largest regular production motor was 150
