Sunseeker Outlaw 14 foot jet boat

Hi does anyone know anything about the Sunseeker Outlaw 14 foot jet boat tender? I have been offered one for sale, it has a Mercury / Force Sportjet 90 HP engine. Any comments on the boat engine? A bit worried that these engines are / might be trouble?

I think the boats where originally built as tenders for Sunseeker.

Thanks as always

Stewart

Hi there,

The Sunseeker Outlaw's were originally designed as tenders to the larger boats as you say, mainly the Predator 63 I believe, which it fitted in the garage of!

I was searching for one of these myself a few years ago when I was looking for a first boat, but found them difficult to find on their own without the package!

I think I've got an old brochure that has some details of them somewhere, if you PM your E-Mail address to me I'll see what I can find to pass onto you.

Cheers, Sam.

Sunseeker Tender

We used to have one that came in for service with us annually. It was always good fun taking it out on seatrials. It was red and yellow and i think that one actually had a 120 sportjet in it.

The early sportjets were based on the Force 90 or 120 hp engines. Basically an old Chrysler Outboard design. Not the most reliable or powerful things from memory. Mercury tried to update electrics and things but I thought they died out years ago.

no way is that boat worth anything like that price.
the engine is rubbish, anything that says force is to be steered clear of.
and sunseeker is nothing like what you might think of for build quality.
a seadoo would knock spots off it in every way.

it might be a touch rare, but be prepared to spend a few quid replacing that horrible power plant.
