POWERBOAT P1 ANNOUNCED
After winning the 2006 OSS Vee National and World Championship races and committing to the 2007 season with the Offshore Super Series, Outerlimits Powerboats will take a second offshore racing team to Europe’s Powerboat P1 circuit.
Fiore and Russell will reunite as a team, having won the 2001 and 2002 APBA PX Class World Championship titles. “We created the perfect Mercury-powered race boat last year—Joe [Sgro] proved that with his 2006 U.S. Championships and he is set to do it again with our new driver, John Makepeace,” Fiore said, “Now we are ready to introduce Outerlimits to the European markets.” The Outerlimits Performance P1 team will be based in Viernheim, Germany
“We believe the Powerboat P1 circuit is a top-notch racing organization and we are preparing to let the Europeans see us in action!” Fiore added. The Outerlimits Powerboat P1 Offshore Racing Team will be powered by Mercury Racing’s newly European-certified 662 engines. "Mercury Racing is delighted to roll out its EU662 engine and NXT1 drive with Outerlimits' P1 race team,” said Fred Kiekhaefer, President. “What better way to show the world an emissions compliant powerhouse?"
