Thing to do is, use your 242 to install and develop a single Toureg motor, when you get it perfec, sell, buy a nice tidy 272/292 like the one you've found, and build a pair! (of stinking, noisy, smelly, but very economical oil burners)...simple!

I wouldnt have it any other way.

No sense in being the richest man in the cemetry.

Seriously, ive been running petrol boats for so many years now that id really miss the wallet kicking. Also, i have a personal dissinterest in Diesel motors in any form of transportation. Theres nothing really wrong with them, they just dont interest me.

Even my lawnmower & strimmer are petrol powered. Still with a great big Fekkin Refinery on my doorstep, the local gas station is never out of petrol.

Jon, Diesel motors are only economical in the very long term are they not?

How long would you have to keep your boat in order to realise the savings from the cost of fuel after taking the increased purchase cost of the engines into consideration. And further taking into account the imminent price increase of Diesel oil?

That's a fair comment!

But now you've made it, you must NEVER complain about the cost of running your boat, or refuse to take part in any long BM trips on the grounds of cost

coz we won't

Im not whinging about the cost of fuel (though i should) just the way my boat dribbles it down its guts like its water.

Besides i get 10% discount from MDL fuel Berths. Should flamingwell think so at £1.02/litre.
