The Boatmad 'Global Challenger'

Plans are afoot, to smash all known records for a double circumnavigation of the globe in a powerboat.

Whilst small, the 'Global Challenger' will be able to handle anything the planet has to throw at it, due to it's enormous power to weight ratio.

It will be rigged with triple OMC 4 litre V8 outbourds, obviously these aren't the most economical of motors, so we will be carrying 75,000 imperial gallons of fuel, mainly in tupperware lunchboxes stowed around the drivers feet.

The chest freezer (well we've goota eat ya know), heads, and rest area will be situated just behind the cockpit.

All up weight will be about 30 tons, but god willing, it'll float ok.

Here's a wee preview of the beast!

Whatch this space!!!

PS. If at some point we realise it won't float, we'll postpone the attempt till 2032.

Thank you.

PPS.the name currently on the boat, has been taken by Leeway ribs, IOW.

At "30 tonnes" i would be a little concerned that the Triple OMC's may not have the power req'd for planing ..... perhaps a Quad setup would be better.
