Both engines started and worked/sounded great!

The only problem we discovered when running about 3800rpm was that the impeller on the stbd engine probably needs to be replaced.
The stbd temperature gauge showed a lower temperature than the port engine and some smoke occured around the stbd engine. The engine probably got overheated because when we slowed down the smoke disapeared.
Im gonna change the impellers in both engines (just to be sure) and we´ll see if that will solve the problem.

Overall Im VERY happy with the boat!

Both impellers & housings were brand new may last year and the motors never ran without a water supply hooked up.

You sure you didn't just spill a bit of oil down the side of the rocker covers - did that once, once the manifolds get nice and hot it burns off and scares the shit outta you thinking it's on fire.

Can't remember what the temp gauges used to read - I seem to recall one of the thermostats stuck slightly open so the motor over cooled slightly - hence the new stat in the box. (Think might have been stbd over cooled a bit). The temp gauges were always pretty reliable in that respect.

Would like another twin V8 boat in the future - who knows eh.
Don't miss the fuel bill though.

Perhaps some oil could have been spilled - causing the problem you described, I´ll check on that. I had the same thoughts as you when the smoke appeared; It´s on fire! But the smoke stopped after we slowed down so I guess its just a minor problem.

By the way, do you know if the fuel gauge and sender are all original ('89)??

Gauge is almost certainly original.
Not sure about sender.

I found this last night, thought it might be useful to you:

Thank you!!!!! Exactly what I have been looking for
I actually called Formula 7 days ago too see if they had any wire diagrams or even the owners manual for the boat. But they didn´t have anything left

Do you know what happened to the owners manual?

I removed the stbd impeller housing today, the impeller looked good and had no damages but I changed it anyway. The housing looked good too. I sure hope this will fix the problem.

Also, before I removed the housing I started the engines today (I let them run on idle for about 5min), i noticed that the water flow from the stbd exhaustpipes were less than the port engine. You could tell the difference buy looking and comparing the flow from the pipes.

Do you guys have any suggestion where to look if the problem continues after i have tried out the new impeller? Maybe the circulationpump?

Im not a V8 expert so Im gonna need all help and suggestions I can get.
Thanks!

The boat seems to be working absolutely perfect now.

Here is a bad picture I took this morning at a small island called "Lidö" outside of norrtälje where a big party was held the night before.

Feeling a bit hangover today so to speak.
