Thanks GRÜNT! Don't worry, your English is much better than my French!
The HO Gearcase is fitted with lower water pickups, although they're still on the side of the case, not the bottom like a Merc. Bigger screens are available to scoop more water, which may be something worth looking into if I have any problems. I need to get a water pressure sender to work with my iCommand, but until then I will keep a sharp eye on temp. The plan is that when we race I'll have revs and trim my side, while my nav can have water pressure, temp and speed on his side.
We are in the process of making up some braces from the spreader plate at the top of my transom, to triangulate with the longits in the boat, just to give the transom a helping hand. The 21C was designed for a gill bracket and plenty of setback so it should be fine.
I've read a bit about the lifter on some American sites, they all seem to be more than happy with them, and that's including offshore use with 300hp V8s hanging off them. Fingers crossed!

haha I don't think you've got much more to go! Might be worth a bow tank maybe to keep your front end from getting so flighty.
Jake's knee seems to be doing well so we might be good to go. I'll be ready and the boat will be definitely. Might try and get out Sunday for a rip

It looked a bit loose at some points, not necessarily a bad thing though... With a bowtank you could always run it partially filled and still trim against it. I reckon you could quite happily lift the motor a hole too, it flies up on the plane at the moment!

Hi Paul, were racing a 21C with a 2.4 EFI on the stock setback bracket.
We dont run an adjustable jackplate. But moved the engine up to top holes on the setback and lost all the bow lift and boat drove like crap. That was about level with the bottom.
Turning a 25 renegade 6700 - 6800.

That's good rpm for a 25" prop! What speeds do you see?

I've not had a GPS in the boat, but from timed laps 74-75mph
Putting the engine back down at the weekend as it handled like crap jacked that high. Have a 24 trophy to try and bring rpm up and carry the bow.

Rakers generate a lot of bow lift ...............

I've got a 24" Raker II to try, and access to a 26". Also got a 23" Rebel which is probably more neutral. The Evinrude site states that the Rakers work well as surface piercers, and my boat always seemed to handle very well with the lifter up when the Merc was working. I was using a 23" Yam M series. Never got round to trying cornering with it right up though, I always dropped it down a touch to be on the safe side.

Yeah, that was suggested to me before, looking for a small hub one, but want to figure pitch first after we drop the engine. Hoping to get out this weekend and try the trophy and a Mirage.
Paul, our last race was rough and every time we cornered with the engine that high the prop just lost grip and the boat sat down. Way too high in my opinion, good for straight line speed in the flat. But handled like $h!t in the rough. Wouldnt hold the bow up, I was convinced at one point the trim had stopped working! Then we tripped the boat and got very wet! It never did that before.
