Tohatsu Outboards??

Does anyone have any experience with them? From what i've read they are reliable and fairly cheap, just wondered how they compare to the usual Mercury/Mariner?

Cheers

Grant

my dad runs a tohatsu 140 on his ocr boat and it is very quick.

and they are very reliable. when he turned his boat over all we did was change the oil and petrol and it was fine the next day and the engine wasnt wet at all so the are also quite water proof as well.

My friends @ http://www.reddish-marine.co.uk also reckon they are hard as nails and cheap as chips. They are alos a dealer but own phantoms themselves.

When they started the one class rib racing the engines were fine but the saddles took a lot of stick from the drivers and failed quite regulary.

Not that it matters that much, but whilst at the Miami show I noticed identical engines on the same stands badged as Nissan.

I'm getting really quite worried about not having anything for when the sun shines.
