Thanks Scott - I'd love to! Might have to do it after the show if that's ok with you? want to fit a couple of other things in while I'm there this year!
Want to hire a Harley and go sky diving and maybe a little scuba in the Keys as well!

Scott, I'd dearly love to look round your shop, and that gorgeous cat! I fly on the 9th Feb, so will be there prior to the show.
PS. Is that a Victory boat in the background of that pic?

Found a shot! The old Black and White Whiskey - Magnum 28 hull?? ANd I stand corrected on the Brits being way ahead of the rest of the world (based on the Maritime aluminium hull that raced in the states in the 60's!) Gotta love those matching leather outfits!!

It was this one well. But it was a 32' not a 28'.
"Thunderbird" Maritime 32' aluminium which Jim Wynne won the Sam Griffith in 1966. It was powered with two United Aircraft-Pratt&Withney turbine and was admitted to race with a lot of doubts about the conformity to the regulations.
It was one of milestone boats of offshore racing.
Anyone know where is now?

Another image that we show the two war surplus Pratt & Whitney ST6 helicopter gas turbine engines which powered the "Thunderbird" of Jim Wynne.
The american offshore pioneer employed the little "Ghost Rider" in Europe and this Maritime 32' in USA to win the first official UIM Offshore World Title.

Miss Embassy was sold to Intermarine-Firebird yards in Viareggio in 1976.
This picture was taken during the Viareggio-Bastia-Viareggio 1976 where the boat was the starter.
Then it remain there without find a buyer for some year. In the meantime the red was changed with blue colour.
CTC 1974. Tommy Sopwith and him last boat. He finished second overall but "outlaw" because the use of turbines was banished after the victory of Wynne in 1966.
This was a beautiful boat(like almost all Shead designs) built in fiberglass by Planatec in 42' and equipped with two turbines Rolls Royce Gnome with 500hp each.

I know I´m getting a bit repetitive here, but who could deny that Don Shead designed a stunning looking machine..............

You are right Nigel. Shead is an anticonformist boat designer. And him design are almost ever very beautiful.

Thats the one...... Looking at it not sure if it is tin now. Intresting running 401 not the usual Tommy "400". Failed to finish the Cowes Race I think but came good for the following days RTI.

No absolutely. That above was a 38',LPW I think was a 33'.
What's the year of LPW? And who's had the original idea to put outboards?

One of the most beautiful Shead-Enfield,"Castoldi Jet" of Franco Castoldi, owner of the famous italian jet stern drives systems.
I think it was a sister boat of "Miss Enfield II" 33' and it took part in some Mediterranean race between 1972 and 1975.
