The thought did cross my mind but looking for something a bit newer. It all makes sense now looking at the red engine bay and reading it was re glasses in 2005. It's gotta be great value at that price tho!

Or one of ours brand new for less than most of the second hand ones with Verado 300's for leisure or 350's for racing? Closed or open top with windscreen.

Both the Scorpions are great boats. i can say that because we have had a Scorpion but i want to move to something different.

I have wanted a Hunton for a long time. since i was a kid and one blasted past us in our sailing boat! think it will need to take something pretty special to move me away this time!

The boat measures 33'10" for racing, without outboards, the inboard version is longer overall as it includes the "bustle" that extends over the drives. The race version has four race seats in with plenty of room to spare and the outboard version has room for seating where the engine bay is. We can make the roof removable for for a leisure version giving the best of both worlds - the roof would store in the engine bay above the motors or under the rear floor for an outboard version.

We are not in Huntons league of finesse, but if you are looking for a much more simple boat for weekends then we aren't in their price league either!

If you send me an email at cookee@bananasharkracing.com I can give you some dimensions of the cabin and cockpit etc. There is room for a Vee berth and some "facilities" if that's what you want but as every boat is built to order you can design your own, just tell us what you need and we'll try and find a place for everything.

I should add we're having a bit of a do with an opportunity to try the boat out on the 13th of August in Salcombe and we will be in Cowes (August bank holiday weekend) as well of course.

One would have thought Cookee that if you do achieve the 70mph from the 2x260hp engines, then perhaps with 2x315hp engines your hull may push towards the 80mph mark, which surly would make your hulls one of the most efficient out on the water, especially compared to the Sunseeker XS2000 that requires 2x450hp and still seems to manage no more than 76-77mph

We're racing!

Cfun - the 8LV370 would be the way to go ( http://www.yanmarmarine.com/theme/ya...K3047B_web.pdf ) - it's a V8 370 and all new common rail direct injection technology like the BY260's we have in our boat - 4.46 litres and they come with a Yanmar drive built for that motor. For racing it would keep you in "D" class, and with 740hp it would be a quick boat and probably well into the 80+mph range

Andy C Mike makes great boats but I think we're after different markets - if you put the two boats side by side (maybe in Cowes?) I think you would want one or the other not both!

Not my calculations, but with 525's actually faster than that - well over 90 possibly 100, XR's would be the obvious choice although Arnesons would be faster. Ilmor's would be quick as well!

Yup, here's some, Yanmar, front and rears. They are just prior to bead blasting but we can also do them polished. As used by Pascoe, Goldfish, Voom Voom and others.
They are wate-rjet cut and as you may see they are all tabbed together to interlock, so increasing strength and accuracy.
Plenty more details if you need them. SIMON
